The purpose of our organization is to
facilitate commerce, promote pedestrian trails, transit, and cluster developments;
encourage churches, schools, libraries, and civic sports facilities; protect
neighborhoods; while preserving wildlife habitat, open space, and water quality.
Oak Hill's Neighborhood Plan Contact Team acts as the contact point; between residents,
businesses, developers, environmentalists, and the City of Austin; which all recognize Oak
Hill's natural necessity to transform herself into the 21st century....

Recent Developments

On Wednesday,
October 8th, OHAN held their Annual Fall Candidate
Forum at Oak Hill's newest Spanish style restaurant;
Segovia; located at the "Y" in the H.E.B.
center.
Presiding over the debate was Oak Hill Gazette editor, and
chief Will Adkins.
(above stands: Dwain Rogers,
OHAN's President, as he greets the arriving audience.)

On August 21st,
OHNPCT member, Mickey Bentley initiated Austin City Council
evening session with a presentation:
Oak Hill's Impervious Cover Exchange.
The
Impervious Cover (IC) Commission would be comprised of:
1) two members from the City of Austin
2) two Civic leaders from Oak Hill
3) Justice of the Peace
4) Precinct 3, Commissioner
5) District 47, State Reprehensive
Oak Hill's IC Commission- assures moneys derived from
impervious cover credits (developer credits)
would be
re-channeled; directly back into Oak Hill, through Transfer
Development Rights
(TDRs- purchase of mitigation lands to
offset environmental impact).
Throughout the
planning process, OHNPC Team has supported the idea of
preserving parks/open space, constructing hike-n-bike trail,
and building community infrastructure; through TDR. While
imbedded in the 'Index' of the Oak Hill's Neighborhood Plan;
special emphasis on IC Commission authority is necessary to implement Oak Hill's
Neighborhood Plan.
The Oak Hill Community visualizes these mechanisms as 'green
vehicles'; designed to protect Oak Hill's quality of life.

Buffalo Equities (West Park PUD) has
submitted to the Oak Hill Neighborhood Planning Team, their originally approved PUD
documents filed during 2001. Under Buffalo Equities revised plan, they hope to arouse
community support to change their density from 70,000 sq.ft. to one million square feet of
medical office, retail, multi family, cinema, and community services.

Back in April 2008, Sandy Baldrige flexed her
muscles, and brought the community together for a good old "barn raise'n".
Thanks to United Methodist Church, Freescale, AMD, Wyatt's Nursery, Austin Pizza Garden,
Oak Hill Trail's Group, Rose Hart Trail Foundation, OHAN, and Trail Tamers; Williamson
